A Google rank tracking API: one call, one position

Get where a domain ranks on Google for a search — in the country and language you choose — straight from your code. No SDK, no scraping on your side.

Every Spider account includes an API key. Each call checks Google live, down to the top 100, and costs one credit — the same as a manual check in the dashboard. It is useful for your own dashboards, client reporting, alerts in Slack, or any automation that needs to know "where are we for this search today".

The endpoint

GET https://spider.libelulacrm.com/api/v1/rank
    ?q=plumber+london
    &domain=mysite.co.uk
    &gl=gb
    &hl=en
    &api_key=spd_your_key
ParameterWhat it is
qThe search, as people type it
domainThe domain to find (subdomains count as the same site)
gl, hlGoogle market: country and language. gl=gb&hl=en = Google United Kingdom in English, gl=us&hl=en, gl=ie&hl=en, gl=de&hl=de, gl=fr&hl=fr… Without them: Google Spain in Spanish. Note that the UK is gb, not uk.
api_keyYour key (it starts with spd_). You can also send it in the X-API-Key header.

The response

{
  "q": "plumber london",
  "domain": "mysite.co.uk",
  "position": 3,
  "url": "https://mysite.co.uk/plumbing-london",
  "top": 100,
  "serp_top": [ { "p": 1, "d": "competitor.co.uk", "t": "…", "u": "…" }, … ],
  "credits_remaining": 1997,
  "took_ms": 1840
}

position is null when the domain is not in the top 100. serp_top lists the first five results — your competitors for that search.

Your balance

GET https://spider.libelulacrm.com/api/v1/me?api_key=spd_your_key

Returns your plan and remaining credits, at no cost — handy before launching a big batch.

Errors

HTTPerrorMeaning
400missing_paramq and domain are required
401invalid_api_keyThe key doesn't exist
402insufficient_creditsNo credits left
502engine_errorGoogle couldn't be queried right now; try again

Prefer not to write code? The dashboard does the same every day by itself, with history, charts, competitors and PDF reports.

How much does an API call cost?

One credit per call, the same as a manual check. You get 200 free credits when you sign up; packs start at €9 and never expire.

Which countries can I query?

Any of the 26 markets Spider supports, with gl (country) and hl (language): United Kingdom (gb), United States (us), Ireland (ie), Canada (ca), Australia (au), Germany (de), France (fr), Switzerland (ch), Spain (es), Mexico (mx) and more.

How deep does the API look?

Down to the top 100 results, stopping as soon as it finds your domain. The response also includes the top 5 for the search.

Is there a rate limit?

Calls are processed as they arrive; for large batches, space them out and check your balance with /api/v1/me first.
